Internship-Mission and Vision Statement

Image
"Learning for Life (L4L) is a research-based, multi-faceted community and college partnership that links students to a network of services, supports and opportunities. This collaborative work fortifies students for college success and removes any challenges that they may encounter in keeping college a central priority in their lives. The L4L staff team includes networks of peer mentors/advocates called Navigators, who are supported by Lead Navigators, three Educational Support Facilitators, a Data Specialist, an Assistant Director and a Director. Planning for Success Event

Image
Hello everyone! Over the weekend I volunteered at RIC to watch the children while their parents attend the organizational event. I was hosted by a graduate student and she also does her internship at Learning 4 Life. The event was from 9-12pm and it was held in the ballroom. Students were given school supplies and there were "pop-up" stations where they learned new tools and tricks on ways to self organize their life! The good part was that we had a lot of tools to use with the children. I also had my daughter with me and that helped the time go by :) We played games and colored with the kids. I gave them an incentive to help clean up after too lol. Candy works magic with misbehaving children.! I included a picture of the kids dancing to the YMCA from a kids youtube video.

Some examples of these include, American Red Cross, Human Rights Champaign, Community Action Agencies and the YMCA. Some characteristics of a non-profit are the importance of a mission statement and a vision statement. Nearly every nonprofit has an executive board with community leaders who oversee the organizations daily operations. These volunteers help the organization work, financial responsibilities, and staff members who share a commitment to the mission. Lastly, by l...
